Punit works at the intersection of development strategy, institutional partnerships, and evidence, across government health systems, national research platforms, and large-scale social development programmes.

At Piramal Foundation, he served on the Strategic Initiative Group while directing RMLE for the Aspirational Districts Transformation (GoI's flagship 117-district initiative, in partnership with NITI Aayog), the Tribal Health Collaborative Anamaya (USD 16M), and a BMGF- and USAID-funded COVID-19 response across 56 vulnerable districts. The monitoring systems, dashboards, and evidence products developed under his leadership informed programme and policy decisions at NITI Aayog, MoHFW, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and MoWCD.

At Population Council Consulting, he founded the India Research Alliance, a national platform connecting 70+ academic institutions, government bodies, and civil society organisations, while mobilising USD 7.9M in new grants and stewarding a USD 60M USAID health portfolio during its active years in India. He currently leads PCC's partnerships and research strategy in India, working across government, bilateral, and philanthropic systems.

He is drawn to work where strategy, partnerships, and evidence have to function together, because the programmes that actually move the needle are the ones where all three are taken seriously at the same time.
