Dr. Prashant Verma is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Statistics, University of Allahabad. Dr. Verma holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University. He has over 7 years of experience as a Statistician at the State Bank of India, Mumbai, and a Business Analyst at TCS, Bangalore. He developed a Machine Learning personal loan model for SBI, generating a Rs. 60,000 Crores business. Dr. Verma possesses advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning expertise, having completed specialized courses with NVIDIA and Times Professional Learning. He is a recipient of the UGC NET-JRF fellowship and the Basic Scientific Research Fellowship. Dr. Verma has published over 16 articles in various SCI/Q1/Q2/Scopus International journals like Biomedical Central (BMC), Annals of Data Science, Genus, Helicobacter, and other Springer journals. He recently authored one book, Practical Data Analytics for BFSI, focusing on Machine Learning & Deep learning applications in the Banking and finance sector. He also contributed 6 chapters to 2 edited books under CRC Press, Taylor & Francis. Dr. Verma received travel awards from various agencies like the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Indian Council of Social-Science Research (ICSSR) and Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB, DST) to attend international conferences like 7th African Population Conference, South Africa, Annual conference of Population Association of America, USA., and Asian Population Conference, China. He received a certificate of appreciation from the International Conference on Family Planning, Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health. He presented more than 20 research papers at various national and international conferences. He delivered over 10 lectures and chaired sessions at national and international workshops on statistical methodologies. Dr. Verma is also contributing as a reviewer for various International Journals.
